Mole & Skin Lesion Removal

Remove Concerning Moles & Lesions

Moles are typically nothing more than a cluster of skin cells. Instead of the cells spreading out over the skin, they form in one area, which gives them a darker pigmentation. In most cases, moles don’t need to be removed or treated

But, mole removal at Slimming Solutions may be an option for some, if you have a mole that is causing irritation or looks abnormal.

How Does Mole Removal Work?

Mole removal is a short and easy process. The area surrounding the mole will be numbed, and the mole will be cut out along with an area of the surrounding skin, if absolutely necessary. Moles can also be burned away or shaved off, depending on the size and shape.

Skin tag removal is just as easy and in most cases, the tag can either be burned off, cut away, or frozen until it falls off on its own.

Am I a Good Candidate for Mole Removal or Skin Lesion Removal?

While you can certainly have a mole removal procedure done if you don’t like the look of a mole, keep in mind that one of the most difficult jobs of a provider is to remove a mole or skin lesion without leaving any scarring.

But, if you truly want to get rid of a mole, we can help. You are an ideal candidate if a mole or lesion is causing you any discomfort, you think it may be a sign or a bigger medical concern or is “catching” on things when you shave or put on clothing.

How Long Does a Typical Treatment Take?

Mole removal is a one-time procedure that can take anywhere from a few minutes to an hour. It all depends on the size and shape of the mole itself. Because of the numbing agent, you shouldn’t feel much during the actual procedure itself, other than a slight pressure. It is virtually painless.

What Results Will I See?

With mole removal, you will likely feel back to normal in just a few days. If the mole was cut away, you may have to thoroughly clean the area and apply ointment or petroleum jelly to keep it clean as it heals. In some cases, the removal of a mole will leave a small scar, so keeping it clean and dry as it heals will help to reduce the appearance of any lasting marks.

Is There Any Downtime?

If you just had a small mole removed, you should be able to continue your daily habits in about a day with no pain or discomfort. If a larger mole was removed, you may want to wait a few extra days before doing anything strenuous, like exercise. Throughout your downtime, you shouldn’t feel any lasting pain or irritation, though there might be some slight discomfort.
